“My sister and I planned a trip to France to celebrate our birthdays. But the Covid-19 epidemic forced us to cancel our plans. Since we couldn’t go to Provence, I thought I’d gift my sister with a commissioned painting by Ron of sunflowers in the French countryside. It was a little bit of France for her on a special birthday. And, she loved it! Thank you, Ron!

Through his skillful use of color, light, scale and contrast, this work by Ron Parent captures beautifully what I find most intriguing about our world—the delicate “balance of imbalance”.   The raucous kinetic energy of powerful waves helps the viewer emotionally experience the movement, shades, sounds and even the scent of the seashore, but also provides a sharp contrast as backdrop for another world – the small, vulnerable and awkward sandpipers, oblivious to the sound and fury of wind and surf as they stubbornly search the sand.  The juxtaposition of two distinctly different tableaux produces a provocative harmony.  The larger lesson is not difficult to identify.  Indigo Symphony is a sweet start.

We gave Ron some ideas that we wanted to incorporate into a painting.

He listened to our ideas and made them come alive.  The painting came out awesome.   Thank you Ron for making an idea become a reality.

Commissions are possible and are discussed with Ron for feasibility. Since Ron primarily paints landscapes and seascapes, portraits of people and animals are not accepted. Before a commission is accepted, there are conditions that will be agreed upon between the two parties to include subject matter and specific requests, dimensions of the canvas, the timing for completion, framing, shipping costs, and price. There may be other factors to be considered. Before commissioning a piece, one should become familiar with Ron’s style of painting. The person commissioning the piece will not be obligated to purchase the painting if it does not meet expectations. It will become part of Ron’s inventory and will be offered for purchase on his website.

Commissions

During the dark days of COVID, we wanted a special gift for a close relative working on the frontline as a hospital chaplain.  We commissioned Ron for a painting of a beloved lighthouse.  Ron's painting brought to life all the beauty, light and hope when it was needed most.  She loves it.  Thank you, Ron!!!

Note from Ron: This painting was commissioned by friends who have a condo near Turtle Beach on Florida's west coast. They sent me photos of the beach and requested the beach be shown along with a pelican somewhere in the painting. I visited the area and took additional photos as well as doing research on the pelicans that are in that area. Since I was shipping the painting to Florida, we decided that two panels would be easier to ship than one large panel. The area above their sofa was designated for the painting and measurements were given to me. I was able to get two panels of the same size and painted them next to each other on my easel. The result was a continuous scene of the beach. They were hung with a gap of 1.5 inches. The final size of the diptych was 40"x58".
